Lucky Bubby clothing is a streetwear fashion brand created by street artist @jkosart. Lucky Bubby’s goal is to repurpose as many items of clothing as possible to do her part towards achieving greater sustainability in the world while creating clothes with bold and positive messages through Lucky Bubby clothing.
The messages on the clothing will parallel with @jkosart’s street art messages of love, hope, resilience & poetic resistance. Custom clothing feel like a natural add on to her art practice of silkscreening, hand painting, and collage. The clothes you wear give you an opportunity to express yourself uniquely and Lucky Bubby streetwear has a distinct style as each pc is a one of a kind and will have hand pulled silkscreen and hand painted art included.
@jkosart’s two Bubby’s and her mother were business women from the 1940s through the 1980s; Bubby Rose ran Supreme International Shoes Inc., Bubby Anna ran Anna’s Dress Shop in the Bronx, and Pearl had a custom clothing company in Jamaica, Queens. These two Bubby’s and @jkosart’s mother are the inspiration for Lucky Bubby. JK is happy to continue in their footsteps. Bubby Anna told her granddaughter numerous times what a lucky girl she was. Anna’s life was extremely difficult as she immigrated to the US from Minsk, Belarus at
18 yrs old never to see her parents and two siblings again …this luckiness is resonating strongly through the creation of Lucky Bubby.
